City of Ashes Production gets the Green Light

Today Martin Moszkowicz, producer of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, announced on his facebook page that City of Ashes will go into production this coming fall!

For those of you unfamiliar with the Mortal Instruments series, City of Ashes is the sequel to City of Bones. Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower will star in this second installment and Harald Zwart will direct. 

I'm a little surprised that they've green-lighted the next movie before even seeing how City of Bones does in the box office. I'm thinking it will either do great or absolutely tank, but I'm leaning more towards do great. What do you think?
