Disney moves forward with Artemis Fowl Movie

Harvey Weinstein will reportedly be producing a live action movie adaption of Artemis Fowl for Disney. The Artemis Fowl movie is in the very early stages of development and will most likely not be seen on the big screen in the near future. Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) is working on the screenplay which will be based on the first two Artemis Fowl novels (Artemis Fowl, Book 1 & The Arctic Incident, Book 2). As a fan of this series I would love to see it made into a film. However, I am skeptical about the ability of Hollywood to accurately portray the world and humor while still producing a child friendly film. Lets face it, Artemis Fowl is full of bathroom humor, naked behinds, bum flaps and various other visuals that could be awkward / gross / disturbing on screen.
